Board Announcement: July 22, 2025

The Board of Directors at Intellectual Property Ontario (IPON) is pleased to welcome Dan Weber as a new Board member.  

Weber currently serves as Senior Advisor, Public Affairs, in the Office of the President and CEO at the Canadian Bureau for International Education. He brings more than two decades of experience spanning the public, private and non-profit sectors, with a focus on innovation, strategic partnerships and education policy.

Over the course of his career, Weber has held senior leadership roles with ApplyBoard, a Canadian unicorn EdTech company headquartered in Waterloo Region, and the Government of Ontario, in the Office of the Minister of Education. His work has supported major policy initiatives, public-private partnerships, and programs aimed at improving access to education and talent development.

He has also served in advisory roles with the University of Waterloo, Queen’s University and several community-based organizations.

We look forward to Weber’s contributions as IPON continues to strengthen Ontario’s innovation economy through IP support and services.
