How to Protect Your Intellectual Property and Not Break the Bank

Download slide deck
You’ve spent time and money developing an invention or innovation and now want to own the rights, but intellectual property (IP) filings for patents, trademarks and industrial designs come with financial costs and most companies don’t have unlimited money to spend on IP protection. How do you decide what IP protection is worth investing in and how do you budget for it? This is one of the top questions we receive at Intellectual Property Ontario and we’re here to help.

In this webinar learn:

  • How to budget for IP now and as you scale

  • Filing strategies to help reduce your costs (did you know you can file under an international patent system that facilitates protection in multiple jurisdictions?)

  • What costs to expect such as domestic and foreign filings fees, local and foreign agent costs, translation fees, etc.

  • What work you can do yourself and when you need an external service provider

  • Available funding programs to help offset costs
